In a time where access to quality healthcare is growing increasingly crucial, BP Healthcare Group and the University of Malaya (UM) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in a continuous effort to improve healthcare services in Malaysia. A renewal of the MoU signed in 2013, both parties will collaborate in academia, dental care services and community outreach programmes.
In academia, the MoU will entail establishing a visiting dentist consultant programme to enable UM Dental Consultants to practise at BP Dental* clinics. In line with BP Dental’s aspiration to expand our dental care services, the collaboration will include the establishment of a post-graduate programme to facilitate our dentists to pursue a Master of Oral Science (MoSc) programme followed by a Doctorate Clinical (DClinDent) programme at UM. Aiming to improve the access of dental care services to the underserved group, both BP Dental and UM seek to establish outreach programmes, leveraging on UM Mobile Dental clinics.
The MoU signing ceremony was held on 28 January 2023 during the grand opening of BP Healthcare Medan Tuanku. Celebrated with the community in conjunction with the Chinese New Year festivity, the grand opening ceremony was attended by approximately 400 guests who enjoyed various complimentary health services, such as basic health assessments, oral health screenings and physiotherapy assessments. Graced by distinguished guests from the Ministry of Health, government and corporate agencies, the grand opening ceremony was officiated by the Deputy Director-General of Health (Research and Technical Support) of the Ministry of Health, YBhg Datuk Dr Muhammad Radzi bin Abu Hassan.
